@CShrix @Directrix

What do you think? First try to solve it without the inequality. Just think of it as a regular line and ignore the shaded region.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@CShrix Would the slope be 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is what I got but that isn't an option @CShrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, try again :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@CShrix Okay I got 2 the time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the b would be 0 so is the answer the second option?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So close!! It's -2. If you start at 0, you go DOWN 2 and over to the right 1. The negative indicates that it is going down. Now for the inequality part. Which side is the shaded region on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay! and the left side is shaded

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what does that mean? Is the shaded side less than the line? Or greater than the line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@CShrix Less than?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! Therefore, we have the equation y < (less than) -2x. The equations in our choices, don't have that, but they have 2x + y < 0, which is the same thing :)

@CShrix Thank you so much!!
