Algebra 2, will medal and fan! Check my answers, please? Here's my work: http://prntscr.com/8pa9mv Here's the instructions: http://prntscr.com/8pa9sq

OpenStudy (bossvideogamer21):

this looks cool. unfortunately i dont know how to do this i will contact someone who can tho.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

#5 is incorrect. A number like x = 500 is not part of the domain (this is assuming your roller coaster doesn't go on forever to the right)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the range is also incorrect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What would it be, then? @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the furthest point to the left that your roller coaster starts at is (-14,0) so x = -14 is the lowest x value allowed in the domain. Something like x = -15 is not allowed

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I can't see where your coaster stops, but let's say it stops at (10,0) x = 10 is the largest x can go

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so if my assumption is correct, then the domain would be \(\Large -14 \le x \le 10\)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the range is handled the same way but for the y values of the points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you absolutely sure? So how would I write the range?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

well if the coaster stops at (15,0) or something, then you just replace the 10 with 15

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what is the highest point the coaster goes? the lowest point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then -14 <= x <= 15?

OpenStudy (bossvideogamer21):

sorry brook he aint coming

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

`so then -14 <= x <= 15?` yeah if the coaster stops at (15,0) or something

OpenStudy (bossvideogamer21):

and @MTALHAHASSAN2 isnt online neither is @carlyleukhardt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just drew it like that, so I guess it can stop there, that's fine.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

what is the highest point the coaster goes? the lowest point?

OpenStudy (bossvideogamer21):

Hey @brookeshearer99 ganeshie8 got me reinstated. cool right?

OpenStudy (bossvideogamer21):

i`ll talk to u laters brooke

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-9.5, 9) is the highest point and (2,0) is the lowest. @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so y = 9 is the largest y can get y = 0 is the lowest y can be

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the range is therefore `0 <= y <= 9`

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thanks!

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you're welcome
