ALGEBRA HELP PLEASE I need help putting this in standard form. -2n^2 (5n - 9 + 4n^2) = 10n^3 + 18n^2 -8n^4
its -10n^3
In standard form?
i can :)
no i meant, you typed 10^3 at the top, but its meant to be -10^3 and i cant change it to standard form remember? sorrry!
meant to be -10n^3
@ArifL Can you help me put it in standard form?
put it in order from biggest exponent to smallest exponent
do you know which term has the biggest exponent?
No I don't
the exponent is the little number in the upper right of the variable n
I know what the exponent is but I don't know how to put my answer in standard form.
put the terms in order from biggest exponent down to smallest
-8n^4, -10n^3, 18n^2 is that correct?
yes, but they are added
so -8n^4 + 10n^3 + 18n^2 ?
I got them in order from largest to smallest exponent but how does that put it in standard form?
ok, except it's -10n^3 not +10n^3
-8n^4, -10n^3, 18n^2 so like that?
yes, but they are added -8n^4 + -10n^3 + 18n^2 though if you add a negative , you can write it this way -8n^4 - 10n^3 + 18n^2 that is standard form
if you had 1+2x standard form is 2x+1 (the exponent on the "x" is 1, and that is the biggest (and only) exponent.. so 2x goes first)
@phi Thanks :) Can you help me with a few more??
