OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

have you covered "compound interest" yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm ok so... what section is this covering then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just started it

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

started with math?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this section

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

You'll use the formula I posted previously, but now P = 340000 (initial population) r = 0.055 (decimal form of 5.5%) t = 14 years

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

and this section being? this is getting a bit circular there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jdoe0001 back off

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

isn't that the title of a song? =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its a big sister telling you to back off if u are going to help her, then its appreciated if not shut it

Directrix (directrix):

340000 * (1.055) ^ 14 = ? Copy and paste "340000 * (1.055) ^ 14=" into the Google search box and the Google calculator will crank out the answer. Give it a try. @bri97 To read more about this type problem, go to: http://jwilson.coe.uga.edu/EMT669/Student.Folders/Rimpley/instuctionalunit/exponents.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

she plugged that one in and it said wrong answer

Directrix (directrix):

@Missiey Is this answer the one that came up wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes she put it and said incorrect she has one more chance to get it right

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you probably have to round to the nearest whole number

Directrix (directrix):

Check the directions for the problem, @Missiey

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok sorry my computer froze yes it says round to nearest whole number

Directrix (directrix):

@bri97 What do you think the answer you should enter is after you round to the nearest whole number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it cane out to be 719471 would it be 720000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

719471 was correct @Directrix thank you have 4 more feel like helping
