In the equation 2x - y = 4, the x-intercept is 2 and the y-intercept is -4 Which of the graphs above represents this equation?

OpenStudy (photon336):

@Haksorin we need to first isolate y. moving one of the variables over so that the equation is in the form y = m(x)+b y= 2x-4 to find the y intercept, we insert x = 0 into our equation y = 2(0)-4 = 0-4 = -4 (0,-4) so the y intercept is -4. that's the point the graph touches the y axis. now, we put y = 0 and see what x is. 0 = 2x-4 4 = 2x x = 2 so the x intercept is 2. So here are you intercepts. (2,0) (0,-4)

I would say graph C corresponds to the answer.

Hope this helped.
