Could someone please check my questions? My answers are under the questions... and any help will be greatly appreciated 35. Mr. Dunbar's math class averaged poorly on a test, so he gave them a retest. If every person in the class scored 5 points higher on the retest, how would the RANGE of the retest scores differ from the RANGE of the scores on the first test. a. The ranges would be the same. b. The range on the retest would be 5 points higher. c. The range on the retest would be 10 points higher. d. The range on the retest would be 20 points higher. My Answer~ b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe that you are correct

OpenStudy (mrnood):

no - you are not correct

OpenStudy (mrnood):

The range is the difference between the highest and the lowest if everyone's mark goes up by 5 then the highest goes up by 5 AND the lowest goes up by 5: So what happens to the difference between them?....

OpenStudy (abbycross167):

so would it be d?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I am not going to confirm or deny guesses - I've told oyu it is not b. |dw:1445098645343:dw| first test range = (max 1) - (min1) second test range = (max1 +5) - (min1+5) work out the second bracket - see what you see...
