WILL GIVE MEDAL FAST!!! After a rock layer is eroded, which additional event must occur to create an unconformity or a gap, in the geologic record? A an earthquake or motion along a fault B new sediment deposits build up on the eroded area c radioactive decay along a fault d a volcanic eruption near the eroded area
What do you think, @ITZHyper ?
I think it is a
It's either that or B. I'm leaning towards B. Here's an example: There are layers A, B, and C. Layer C erodes away, and then a new layer (we'll call this D) forms where layer C was. So now it's layers A, B, and D. If a scientist was looking at the layers, they would want to know what happened between Layer B and Layer D. But since layer C eroded away, they don't know, so there is a geological gap. Does that make sense, @ITZHyper ?
