Graph and solve the system. 3=4y+x 4y=-x+3 Choices: a. (1,7) b. (-2,0) c. (2,-3) d. infinitely many solutions. I'd like the answer and how you got it, please! Thanks!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it says "graph" but it is a lot easier to solve without graphing for sure

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[3=4y+x\] has a \(4y\) in it, and you know \(4y=-x+3\) so easiest way is to solve \[3=-x+3+x\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

that tells you \(3=3\) which is always true (the x's go away) and so there are infinitely many solutions

OpenStudy (fibonaccichick666):

(another way is to take a look at the slopes)
