What did socrates, plato, and aristotle think of demoracy?

OpenStudy (goalieboy):

Though Plato and Aristotle were certainly against it (see Dave), there is some evidence to suggest that Socrates may have been in favour of democracy. In his discussion with Crito, Socrates talks at length about why he cannot flee Athens after being condemned to death. He gives his respect and love of Athenian law as a reason for this - it would, he argues, be hypocritical in the extreme to reap the benefits of Athenian law in life only to ignore them when they ask for his death. He also states that of all the people in the world, it is Socrates himself who is the least likely to stay in a city with whose government and laws he disagrees. Though written by Plato, given his anti-democratic leanings it seems unlikely that he would use this justification to defend his former teacher. Having said that, in the same speech Socrates says that he is in support of the Spartan method of government. there is the answer @lizeths143
