OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is a y intercept? how would you define it?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

ohh.. The y-intercept of a line is the value of y at the point where the line crosses the y axis.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yes, and all points on the y axis, have an x value of 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the y axis IS the x=0 axis

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

I'm looking at the line right now and it passes by -4 on the y axis.. so thats the y intercept ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if thats where its hitting the y axis, then yes

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

okay :) ty !
