Tom starts a lawn mowing business. Before he can begin, he purchases a new lawnmower. Each weekend he mows the same number of lawns and earns the same amount of money. Write an equation to show how much money he's earned at any week.
Well, it doesn't tell you how much money he makes per lawn or how much money he makes altogether, but here's an EXAMPLE: y = 35x This says that he charges 35 dollars for every lawn and that y is equal to how many lawns he mows times the amount of money he charges for them. I'm not sure how you would really answer the problem though. Also: Lawnmowers cost money, so if the lawnmower cost him 120 dollars, (IF THEY ASK FOR THAT TO BE IN THE EQUATION) the actual equation would be: y = 120 - 35x Which means 120 dollars (the price of the lawnmower) - the amount of money he charges for lawns to be mowed TIMES the amount of lawns he mows equals 'y' which is the total amount of money he made. Make sense?
Yeah i get it now, thanks :)
