How do you simplify t^2-3t-6=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the quadratic formula to find the solutions. \[t=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^2 -4ac} }{ 2a }\] Substitute the values a=1, b=-3, and c=-6 into the quadratic fomula and solve x. \[t=\frac{ -(-3) \pm \sqrt{(-3)^2-4(1)(-6)} }{ 2(1) }\] Remove and parentheses to simplify. Answer: \[t=\frac{ 3\pm \sqrt{33} }{ 2 }\] t=4.37, -1.37
