HELP PLEASE!!! How do you find the y-interecpt from a table when x does NOT equal 0. Example please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it depends of the function itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

example f(x)=3x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when x=2 , f(2)=3(2)=6 so when x=2 y=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just need to no how to find the y-intercept from a table. example: x y 2 3 3 6 4 9 make x=0 by doing 2-2 on the x side and on the y side what would i do here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the way i was taught but im confused on what i have to do on the y side

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The y-intercept is the point where x = 0. Ok so far?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Look at your given points, and start from the bottom with (4, 9)

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You need to find the y-coordinate in the ordered pair (0, y).
