OpenStudy (slickster256):

my lesson says the way to find area of a circle is found by doing this (in the question) but i'm still getting it wrong can someone help me plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can help, what's the question say?

OpenStudy (slickster256):

A = πr2 A= π(62) Substitute r = 6 into the formula. A = π(36) 62 = 6 • 6 = 36 A ≈ 3.14(36) Use 3.14 as an approximate value for π. A ≈ 113.04 in2 Simplify.

OpenStudy (slickster256):

im using a diameter of 8 so i halved that to find my radius and got 4

OpenStudy (slickster256):

then i multiplied 4 *4 so i would have 16 squared

OpenStudy (slickster256):

then i multiplied by pi and got 50.24 but the question choices are

OpenStudy (slickster256):

A. 4π square inches B. 8π square inches C. 16π square inches D. 32π square inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, that's weird, I'm getting the same, entered it into a calculator real quick and it said the same

OpenStudy (slickster256):

yea ik that the symbol behind each number also means pi would it be C because we would be multiplying 16 by pi

OpenStudy (slickster256):

i think thats it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup, you're right.

OpenStudy (slickster256):

ok thx
