Complete the Formula

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The car drives d distance in miles using g gallons of gas. The fuel mileage of the car is the number of miles she can drive per gallon of gas. Fuel mileage = distance/gallons \(Fuel ~mileage ~= \dfrac{d}{g} \) We are told the fuel mileage is 26 mpg, so we can use that number in our equation. \(26= \dfrac{d}{g} \) \(\dfrac{d}{g} = 26\) Solve the equation for g. First, multiply both sides by g. Then divide both sides by 26.
