Please help, I'm not that good with graphing. Can someone explain/help me with these 8 questions? Walk me through it at least. Thanks.

OpenStudy (mutie):

Mrs. Solar modeled Contractor 1’s fee formula with the equation y = 50x + 200. 1. (25 points) Graph the equation y = 50x + 200. Give each axis a label.

OpenStudy (mutie):

OpenStudy (mutie):

@StudyGurl14 @AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

first plot the y-intercept, which is (0, 200)

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

then go up 50 units, and over 1. That's your second point.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

Then draw a line through them.

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

The x (horizontal axis) represents the number of hours worked, and the y axis represents the fee

OpenStudy (mutie):

Can I draw it out then show you if I did it correctly? @StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

yep

OpenStudy (mutie):

Does this seem correct? Sorry if my dots are too small.

OpenStudy (mutie):

@StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (mutie):

oh wait I think I did it wrong, I go 50 units up, not directly over one right @StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (mutie):

It would look like this? @StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

sorta of. make the line longer

OpenStudy (mutie):

Oh I see thanks, can you help me out on a few more? @StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (mutie):

(10 points) Describe what the equation y = 50x + 200 means in the real-world context. I don't understand this?

OpenStudy (mutie):

Hello?

OpenStudy (mutie):

@Aelia6th @limecake08 @themazinmathmaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am here to help you now. What grade are you in?

OpenStudy (mutie):

I'm in 8th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok im here hi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you need Mutie?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I'm sorry I can't help. The reason my username says 6th is cause I'm in 6th. Sorry!:(

OpenStudy (mutie):

Oh okay, and let me copy and paste the question @themazinmathmaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (mutie):

( Scroll up to see the graph and the answers for the graph ) 2. (10 points) Describe what the equation y = 50x + 200 means in the real-world context. I don't understand what real-world context mean? @themazinmathmaster

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i guess they want you to give a word problem that has to do with the real world

OpenStudy (mutie):

Do you know an example of one? I have no idea how to word one for graphing @themazinmathmaster

OpenStudy (mutie):

@zepdrix

OpenStudy (mutie):

@PuppyLover784

OpenStudy (mutie):

@ChantySquirrel1129** @Lost??? @PokemonFan40 @Anaise

OpenStudy (mutie):

2. (10 points) Describe what the equation y = 50x + 200 means in the real-world context.

OpenStudy (mutie):

I don't know what to write for this? Or understand this

OpenStudy (pokemonfan40):

i am in 6th grade so sorry i can not help you!

OpenStudy (chantysquirrel1129**):

Oooh like this: Okay like renting a house or an apartment or something like that lol. The down payment is $200, and for the 50x, you would have to pay $50 every day or every week, and y would equal the total amount c:

OpenStudy (mutie):

@ChantySquirrel1129** Oh okay I see but uhh, theres another question that links up with that example that you used. I don't know how to order it? If I make my own example or use yours? Hold on let me copy and paste it

OpenStudy (mutie):

3. (30 points) Give 3 ordered pairs that are true to the equation and explain what each ordered pair means in the real-world context. @ChantySquirrel1129**

OpenStudy (anaise):

do I know you? e.e

OpenStudy (mutie):

@Anaise no, sorry I was just tagging people to help me. ;-;

OpenStudy (anaise):

lel...if you need halp in english.....tag me cx

OpenStudy (mutie):

Ohh alright xD @Anaise

OpenStudy (mutie):

@ChantySquirrel1129** are you still there?

OpenStudy (chantysquirrel1129**):

Ok, well what you would do is plug in a number for the "x" in the equation and just solve for y. Like this :|dw:1445979946539:dw|

OpenStudy (mutie):

So if I used your example, "The down payment is $200, and for the 50x, you would have to pay $50 every day or every week, and y would equal the total amount" One of them would be (5, 450) ..? Sorry I'm really new to this because we just started learning it. How would I figure out the other two? @ChantySquirrel1129**

OpenStudy (mutie):

OH wait no

OpenStudy (mutie):

You used the numbers from the first equation (right?) sorry

OpenStudy (mutie):

But if I do use that example, how would I figure out 3 order pairs? @ChantySquirrel1129**

OpenStudy (puppylover784):

Need help?

OpenStudy (chantysquirrel1129**):

Yes! :D No, it's completely fine! :) Don't worry about it, I'll help you all the way! You would just plug in some values for "x" like how I did up there, I plugged in "5" for the x value (just any random number would be fine)

OpenStudy (mutie):

So for the example you said.. (5, 450) would be one of the order pairs..? @ChantySquirrel1129** Sorry i'm getting really confused :(

OpenStudy (chantysquirrel1129**):

Yes, it would c:

OpenStudy (mutie):

Can you write out how to get the two other ones? Or explain because I'm still really confused
