I'm supposed to write the standard form of a line that contains a slope of 1/2 and a y-intercept of 3. I'm thinking I'm supposed to use y=my+b form and convert it into ax+by=c form since that's the form my teacher wants it in but I'm unsure if that's the right method? If you could give me a hint here, I'd gladly appreciate it!

Nnesha (nnesha):

you're right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I solve for b in the y=mx+b form?

Nnesha (nnesha):

no you already have the y-intercept y=mx+b is a slope intercept form where `m is slope ` and ` b is y-intercept`

Alright got it, thanks!

Nnesha (nnesha):

alright! remember Ax+By =C is standard form where `a ` is a positive integer so if you get -a then you have to multiply both sides by negative one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No I know, I got a couple of questions wrong because I didn't do that before

Nnesha (nnesha):

oh okay, Good!
