Hmm I don't think I understand what you did, but I am sure that your result isn't correct. If you want to multiply the x terms by something then you need to include the 6 too.

Subtract 3/6 from 4/6 and add 6 to both sides
1/6x = 6
Multiply both sides by 6
x = 36
