Historians often debate when historical periods begin based on which historical forces and events they give priority to and which conceptual lens they use to interpret historical significance. Keeping that in mind, answer these questions:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Identify the date that best describes the beginnings of American independence: 1651, 1721, 1741, 1754, 1765, 1774, or 1776. 2. Identify historical information (people, places, ideas, and events) that support your selection, and make an argument why the date you chose is the best date for the origins of the Revolution. 3. Identify which date would be the best alternative date to explain the origins of the American Revolution, and make a counterargument for that position, using appropriate historical evidence

OpenStudy (jonaho):

1776

i said that too and I used the declaration of independence for the second part but idk what other historical info to use and I just have no clue at all what to do for question 3

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

In 1774, the First Continental Congress first met and passed a declaration of Colonial Rights. Minute man units were organized in all 13 colonies. The word Liberty first appeared on a flag in the American colonies. And, the first organized militia attack on a British form in New Hampshire, 4months before Lexington and Concord.

thanks! do you think you might be able to help me with the third question?? like i just don't really understand what its asking for one thing but if i had someone to give me a shove in the right direction i think i could manage to write a paragraph on it (hopefully lol)

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

One could argue that the revolution started in 1774 because of all the events I listed.

i know he helped me out but it would be nice to have a second input if your dont mind ! @Lady.Liv1776
