Can I get some help here? It's on Quadratic Functions. Quick computing company produces calculators. They have found that the cost, c(x), of making x calculators is a quadratic function in terms of x. The company also discovered that it costs $45 to produce 2 calculators, $143 to produce 4 calculators, and $869 to produce 10 calculators. How do I find the total cost of producing 7 calculators? I don't see a clear pattern at all, and reading the tutorial didn't help either. If someone can help break down the steps and help me learn the material, it would be much appreciated.
Look at it this way.. You could use your data as points on a graph.. so.. (45, 2) (143, 4) (869, 10) and since it is a quadratic function you would want to use a quadratic formula which is what I'm about to send you in a moment..
\[x=-b \pm \sqrt{b ^{-4ac}}\\]
Oh dear it didn't send the way i wanted it to..
