What is the slope of the line passing through the points (–3, 4) and (2, –1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1 maybe

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

Use this equation \[m=\frac{ y2-y1 }{ x2-x1 }\]

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

*Formula

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

Now plug them the x's and y's in It does not matter which you make y1 or y2 as long as the x that matches is directly bellow them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 1, which I dont think is right. I used that formula and got 1.

OpenStudy (jennithemeani):

\[m=\frac{ -1-4 }{ 2+3 }\] \[M=\frac{ -5 }{ 5 }\] So the slope would be -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh thank you. I understand what I did wrong.
