What would be the Y-intercept of 2x + 3y = 1470 3y = -2x + 1470 y= -2/3 + 490 I have to make a graph. And can't figure this out.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first, set x=0, then solve for Y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, thank you so much for helping!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay my y- intercept is 490

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what would be the rise/ run ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, to get that, you can subtract the 2x and move it to the other side of the equation. then you would divide by three, and that will give you the equation you need.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. So it would be -2 / 3? rise/ run?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, thats what i got while doing the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you sooooo much!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would I start in the middle of the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, you would start at the y-intercept, 490, and then go down 2 and then right 3(i cant really show you how to do this cos i dont have the software to)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On a graph like this, where would I start at?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you see the graph?
