Directrix (directrix):

What! Only one answer? :)

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Yup! :)

Directrix (directrix):

Looking at these "word" equations: what do you think about "the number 3 is 4 times the size of 3/4" 4 * 3/4 = 3 is true.

Directrix (directrix):

Something like 3/4 is 1/3 the size of 4 means to me to multiply 1/3 times 4 and see if the product is 3/4. It is not.

Directrix (directrix):

@Ms-Brains What do you think is the intended answer?

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Ah.. I'm thinking D...?

Directrix (directrix):

@Lily2913 Post what you think, okay? Cooperative learning can be fun.

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I don't think lily is going to respond..

Directrix (directrix):

I looked at D) 3/4 is 1/4 the size of 4. But, 1/4 * 4 = 1; not 3/4

Directrix (directrix):

Ergo, I voted "no" on option D.

Directrix (directrix):

>I don't think lily is going to respond.. She may be thinking.

Directrix (directrix):

If everyone has weighed in, I am voting for option B for reasons cited earlier in the thread.

MsBrains (ms-brains):

alright. I agree

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B seems to work.

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I got a few more questions

Directrix (directrix):

If I had written the options, I would have put this among the options to be the correct one: 3/4 is 1/4 of 3. That makes sense to me.

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Directrix (directrix):

@Lily2913 Do you want to go first with your thoughts on this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I'm leaving the floor to you. :)

Directrix (directrix):

At first, I thought 7/5 but then thought no way the person could have more rose bushes than gallons of water and have each bush get 1 2/5 gallons.

Directrix (directrix):

Then, decided 5 gallons for 7 bushes would be 5/7 gallon per bush. (assuming each bush receives an equal amount of water). @Lily2913 @Ms-Brains What do you two think about 5/7 gallon per bush?

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I got no idea guys..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems more likely that you would split the 5gal of water among the 7 flowers, rather than the 7 flowers over the 5 gallons :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think @Ms-Brains ?

Directrix (directrix):

We could split the the 7 lilies over the 5 gallons :)

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I'm thinking @Directrix is correct.. but idk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could, but that just does not sound right to me.

Directrix (directrix):

5 gallons of water, 7 rose bushes. No way a bush could even get 1 gallon of water. 5/7 gallons of water per bush, I say.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I concur with @Directrix

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I'm going to post a new one
