How would you describe the behavior of particles in a solid? A. They don’t move very much and do not change position. B. They crash into each other and bounce all around. C. They move very quickly and across great distances. D. They never move at all.
Atoms are always in motion. They never stop. If they stopped, they would have be at such a low temperature where they would have NO ENERGY! Wow! To do such, it would have to be at 0 Degrees Kelvin. So solids always have atoms that are buzzing and just slightly moving but don't change position. Think of it as the atoms in solids vibrate, rather than move!
B is describing gas particles
So it is A
I know the answer, but I think CShrix has this
Ohh. They do vibrate!! My science teacher said that they moved...
Vibration is a form of motion, but it's easy to confuse moving with changing position when that's not necessarily true. If I rotate, I am moving, but not changing position!
TRUE :D
Your the best teacher EVER!!!
Glad I could help X)
What do you mean by "X)" ?
It's a smiley mix of XD and :)
Oh.
