What did John Smith and Anne Hutchinson have in common? Both were thought of as troublemakers. Both were governors upon arrival in America. Both were Puritans who lived in New England. Both had disagreements with the Puritans.

The answer was that they're both troublemakers. "People wanted to give Smith and Hutchinson more than just a "time out" for bad behavior. Smith's life was threatened when he angered some Jamestown settlers. Hutchinson was kicked out of Massachusetts by Puritan leaders for saying she could communicate directly with God. Oddly enough, both also ended up being successful leaders—Smith in Jamestown and Hutchinson in Rhode Island."
