What is the expression in factored form? 4x² + 11x + 6 I'm having trouble with this one because the 11x is obviously bigger than the 6 and there or no GCF's that add up to 11.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Well, do it... (2x + ___)(2x + ___) (4x + ___)(x + ___) Fill in the blanks. One of those has to work (assuming it CAN be factored).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it's like sort of subtracting the 2x / 4x from the 11x? I still don't think it's working if it's like that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this the complete equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

There was no subtraction. It's called the FACTORS of 4. All you get are 1,4 and 2,2. Now, you must find some factors of 6 and fill in the blanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm doing that and it's not working. I tried 1 and 6, I know for a fact that 2,3 and 3,2 are not gonna work because it doesn't add up.
