OpenStudy (swaugh):

medal and fan awaiting pleasee helppp Give an example of an ordered pair that is plotted by only moving down from the origin along the y-axis. Explain.

OpenStudy (trantom):

(0,4) is a point that is still on the y axis, because if x equals 0 then the point is on the y axis

OpenStudy (trantom):

*(0,-4)

OpenStudy (zkoqmosii):

An ordered pair (p,q) represents a point p units to the right of the origin and q units above it. As you want to be *down* from the origin, q must be negative. As you want to be *on* the y axis, p must be 0. Hence the point you want is of the form (0, -q), where q is negative. Examples? (0, -1) (0, -2)...etc

OpenStudy (swaugh):

thank you both but since trantom answered first he will get the medal but i will fan you both

OpenStudy (trantom):

But he explained it better

OpenStudy (swaugh):

i have an idea

OpenStudy (swaugh):

why dont you give zkoqmosii a medal ?

OpenStudy (swaugh):

it could be a medal train
