Please help??? Identify the vertex and the axis of the symmetry of the graph of the function y=3(x+2)^2-3. a. vertex: (2,-3); axis: x=2 b. vertex: (-2,-3); axis: x=-2 c. vertex: (2,3); axis: x=2 d. vertex: (-2,3); axis: x=-2 I sort of thinking that it is C but I need someone to check and explain. Please :D

C is actually incorrect the correct answer would be B because if we look at the graph we can clearly see that the vertex coordinates are both Negetive.

Do you have to create a function table in order to find the points to graph?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the vertex form is y = a(x - b) + c where the vertex is at (a,b)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- and the axis of symmetry is x = b

OpenStudy (welshfella):

compare your equation with the above general form and you'll see the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be (-2,-3) but where does the -2 come from for the axis

OpenStudy (welshfella):

x = b and b = -2
