The French-Indian/Seven Years War is often viewed by historians as being a factor in causing the American Revolution. Which of these BEST explains why this might be the case?
what are the answer choices?
I'm not sure what your answer choices are, but here are the main reasons why it led to the American Revolution. 1) The American colonists began to realize just how limited their rights were when the fighting broke out and the British asked for colonial militias. 2) The war put Britain into tremendous debt, thus causing Britain to raise taxes 3x in Britain and 1x in the American Colonies. 3) Even though the colonies had barely been taxed before the French and Indian War, they were still taxed and their taxes rose due to the intolerable acts. It may sound petty, but you have to remember that the American colonies had no representation in the British government (unlike the British over in England), so therefore they deemed the taxing unjust and proclaimed "no taxation without representation". This propelled the Boston Tea Party (1773), which propelled a national patriotism. The battle of Lexington and Concord in 1775 soon followed and the American Revolution had begun. Hope this helps some! :)
