the x-intercept is when y = 0. W(x) = y
so far this is all I've got: -To find the x intercept of W(x) , set W(x) to 0 and then solve for x. The given function W(x) should be zero at whatever point it intersects with x-axis.
@triciaal
yes you said the same thing twice.
ok is that sufficient do you think for the first part of the question to be answered correctly?
@triciaal
you don't need to tag me if I am right here reading.
ok sorry
it sounds better with the 2nd sentence first.
ok thanks! I am stuck on how to find the second part of the question though
insert "this is the x-intercept."
for example with a function like (put your example) to construct a rough draft we would choose values of x and find the corresponding value of y . we could also determine the end value behavior of the function.
***choose both positive and negative values
ok so like: x=1 and then y=-2 ? How many values do i need to choose
think you should first make up your function. domain set of x-values example { -3 - 2- 1 0 1 2 3 ) range output values lowest to highest end behavior f(-x) and f(x)
after you have the graph then you can identify where it crosses the x-axis hence see where the intercepts are.
