Math help please!

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Are you able to help @KittyCatie ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can try. You need help with number 7 right?

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

All of them, yeah!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All righty! Gimme a sec to try and figure them all out!

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You did number six right. 7 would be D. 40 inches by 68. All I did here was use the ratio provided and then checked each option to see if the answer was true. Like this.\[\frac{ 1 }{ 1.7 }=\frac{ 40 }{ 68 }\]Simplify to a decimal. Then see if both decimals are the same. In this case the decimals were 0.588. The actual decimal was way bigger, I just rounded it. And can I see the choices for number 8 please. I want to make sure I've got the right answer before I post it.

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Yeah I did!

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Okay Ill send the choices for 8.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

KittyCatie is right, 40 inches by 68 inches.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

for number 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did it only applying the numbers in options to the area formula of rectangles, he, he.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for those! X would be 4 and 6 or C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea! There's lots of different ways to do that problem. I just chose the one I learned when I was younger. ;P

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Okay Thank you! I think Thats all for now!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alrighty! Good luck!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4 and -6

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Wait is it positive or negative @KittyCatie @Corobicí

OpenStudy (allieeslabae):

Its D I GOT IT!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, positive: \[x^{2}-10x+24=0\] \[(x-4) (x-6)=0\] \[x-4=0\] \[x=4\] \[x-6=0\] \[x-6=0\] Then: 4 and 6
