when writing linear equations how do you determine which form of the line to use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you are given/find the slope and a point you use point-slope form \[y-y_1=m(x-x_1)\] and if you have the y-intercept and the slope we use slope-intercept form \[y=mx+b\] from either we can get to the general form of a line \[ax+by+c=0\] Let me know if you need more clarification
