Hey sorry I just saw that I was tagged here and that the question is closed. The geneticist is probably working with identification in order to work with preventative care. The doctor will identify the issues physically and treat the patient where as the geneticist will be looking at the biological basis for the issues. The geneticist may be interested in gene therapy or gene replacement if possible, while the doctor works with the patient's physical limitations.
