One way the Constitution limits individual rights is that it: a) allows the legislative branch to make laws deemed necessary to maintain stability and security b) contains a clause stating that all individual rights will be suspended during a national emergency c) allows the judicial branch to add statements that restrict rights based on court cases d) contains a clause stating that the president has the sole authority to restrict rights when necessary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the answer is a. Just looking for some confirmation and an explanation if possible.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I don't see any reason for C to be incorrect. The court in fact is able to rule and that would be against the rights of a person that he or she would otherwise typically get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is c a true statement?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Also A, as well seems to me to be right...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm...but is c true? Can the the judicial branch to add statements that restrict rights based on court cases?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Well, not exactly like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Neither a or c truly restrict rights because there is more to each process, right? Ughh..

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I would say that court can take away persons rights from example imprisonment, death penalty .....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That makes sense. Thanks for you help!
