yes. I mean, if draw AD, you get another two right triangles. And there is a rule, that if two right triangles have same size of hypotenuses. And then they a equal. That's why BD = DE

i could not answer key says it's 11 but if what you're saying is right; we find x=6 from pythagorean theorem
