you have already solved your question. Now lets find out increasing and decreasing intervals. so increasing means when put x values the function get increased slowly. So x = -infinity to -1 (excluding -1) the function incseases 1. function is increased in (-infinity, -1) same way when you put values to x from 0 to positive infinity, the function gets decreased 2. function is decreased in (-1, +infinity) be sure you don't include -1 hope it helps
