Solve the system of equations by substitution. What is the solution for x?
2x + y = 1
4x + 2y = −1
x = 0 x = 2 There is no x value, as there is no solution.
x can be any value, as there is an infinite number of solutions.

ello love :D need some help?

yes plz
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay so we need to solve for x using the substitution method, correct?

okay so we solve for y in one equation like so:
2x+y=1
subtract 2x from both sides:
y=-2x+1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then we substitute that for y in the other equation:
4x+2(-2x+1)=-1
follow me?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes I get it although I think my answer would be "B" then but plz explain more to me
OpenStudy (anonymous):
alright so we simplify this equation by solving for x:
4x+2(-2x+1)=-1
think you could simplify the equation for x? hint: PEMDAS
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yea I got it now so the answer is b lol thnxs
