How is nuclear fuel used to generate electricity?

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

nuclear energy generates electricity by converting the energy from uranium atoms into electricity. the energy from the uranium atoms are released when they spilt in a process called nuclear fission. this energy is then used to heat water which creates steam. the steam then turns the turbines, this kinetic energy is then turned into chemical energy by the generators. hope it helped :)

That's what I would say too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a. Nuclear reactions produce electricity directly. b. Nuclear reactions produce heat, which is used to create steam, turn turbines, and power generators. c. Nuclear reactions produce heat, which is used to power generators. d. Nuclear fuel produces the energy necessary to cause chemical reactions that produce electricity to take place.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one is it

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

the answer would be B :)
