ik this question is easy but just to make sure.....
A scientist is studying a sample of matter. The matter has no definite shape or volume, and it can conduct an electric current. The sample is most likely in which of the following states? solid liquid gas plasma
ik it's not A or D
@kingkas @They_Call_Me_Narii @TheEdwardsFamily @zombie33 @sammixboo
@green_1 @Vocaloid @welshfella
i would say b
Actually, it's either C or D. Both are considered states of matter with no definite volume or shape. Technically speaking, plasma can conduct electricity through ionization. Gases are poor conductors given that the electrons floating around are so dispersed. The question is worded kind of poorly and doesn't give enough information to differentiate between the two possibilities.
but i thought solid liquid nd gas was only considered states of matter
@richgall____ Well, you thought wrong! There are 3 basic states of matter: Solid, Liquid, and Gas. All have different properties. There are other states of matter, which are more complex, such as Plasma. If I had to guess, I would say that Plasma is the *best* answer. Plasma is kind of a type of gas.. in a sense. When the gases are heated up to an extreme temperature, it becomes plasma, which is ionized gas. Typical gas doesn't necessarily conduct well (it would depend on the composition), but ionized gas AKA plasma, definitely conducts well.
@IrishBoy123 What's your take?
knee jerk reaction - plasma
What grade level is this for?
:)
it was right
im in eigth grade but they put me in some high school course im not supposed to be in so i have to do it even tho they made a mistake @kingkas
Just checking, glad you got your answer!
