OpenStudy (watermelon14):

how do i find the x- intercept of -3x^2+4x+4

Nnesha (nnesha):

x-intercept is a point where graph intersect the x-axis when y =0 \[\rm 0=-3x^2+4x+4\] two ways you can type this into the calculator or factor the quadratic equation `-3x^2 +4x+4`

OpenStudy (watermelon14):

yeah i can't use a calculator so i have to do quadratic equation. Do u think to make quadratic equation easier i should multiple to equation by -1/3?

Nnesha (nnesha):

hmm i don't think so it wouldn't be easy to factor \[x^2-\frac{4}{3}x-\frac{4}{3}\]

OpenStudy (watermelon14):

oh lol

OpenStudy (watermelon14):

so would the answer be 2,0 and-2/3,0 ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

bec we need to multiply both sides by -1/3

Nnesha (nnesha):

how did you get that ?? :P

OpenStudy (watermelon14):

oh i just factored so -3x^2+6x-2x+4 and the u know group the first and the last 2

Nnesha (nnesha):

correct!!

OpenStudy (watermelon14):

yay thanks!!

Nnesha (nnesha):

yahoo!

Nnesha (nnesha):

good job!
