1/5 / 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay what is the question @MLGgamer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it (1/5)/(1/3)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 over 5 divided by 1 over 3. Show it in its lowest form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Err, Terms.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

\[\huge \frac{ \frac{ 1 }{ 5 } }{ \frac{ 1 }{ 3 } }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first we have to do 1/5.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When we do this we would get 0.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then we would do 1/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When we do this we would get 0.333 and so on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So then we would do 0.2 / 0.33

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When we do this we get 0.606

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

We use these steps 1) keep the first fraction 2) do the inverse of division which is multiplication 3) find the reciprocal of 1/3 which is 3/1 we now have: \[\huge \frac{ 1 }{ 5 } \times \frac{ 3 }{ 1 } = \frac{ 3 }{ 5 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope this helped! Have a wonderful day! @MLGgamer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks both of you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No Problem!

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

You're welcome :)
