Determine whether linear, quadratic or exponential...

To me it looks like they are both quadratic and I put that but 1 of them was wrong and they won't let me know which one is quadratic and what the other one is?

Linear must have a constant slope, for each increase of x, y increases same amount,
th efirst interval x=0 to x=5 increases, then decreases, that is not linear the second interval is always decreasing, but not by the same amount each time, not linear
to be exponential, it has a constant multiplier for each increase in x, y = a*(b)^x for each increase in x, the y value is multiplied by another b
a is the value when x=0,
the first interval changes from increasing to decreasing, that must be quadratic from those choices
oh I see it now 0 to 5 is quadratic
5-9 is always increasing but slowing down at a exponential rate
oh ok so 5-9 exponential
to check , you can divide one y value by the previous, and it should be the same ratio between one and the previous
that is the b value in y=a*b^x
notice, each is 0.5 (they rounded a tiny bit for some values) times the previous, it is an exponential

yeah linear y varies directly with x at a constant rate, the slope
y = m*x + b
