nuclear forces are acting among the nucleons (protons or neutrons). For example, inside a pair of protons, or inside a pair of neutrons, or inside a pair proton-nutron there is an exchange of pions. Such pions, are considered the quanta of the nuclear force, and such theory is called OPEP, namely: \(O\)ne \(P\)ion \(E\)xchange \(P\)otential
