563blackghost (563blackghost):

How can I figure out the lengths of a triangle if I am only given the equations for each length?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Do you have an example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do the equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what isosceles means?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Two angles and two lengths are congruent but one side and angle....

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Ex. The lengths of the sides of a triangle are 3x, 5x-12, and x+20. Find the value of x so that the triangle is isoceles.

OpenStudy (lochana):

is your example a real question or something you made to show?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

a real question

563blackghost (563blackghost):

probably shouldnt have put "EX."

OpenStudy (lochana):

mm.. So Isosceles triangle means A triangle with 2 equal sides |dw:1447290348458:dw| actually you can find 3 kind of isosceles by solving for x. 3x = 5x-12 x = 6 and solving with others you get x = 8 and 10

OpenStudy (lochana):

lets take x = 6 this means|dw:1447290682916:dw|

OpenStudy (lochana):

now x = 8 and that is |dw:1447290742677:dw|
