each of the squares in the figures shown have the same area, and each of the triangles has the same area. the total area of figure A is 141cm2. the total area of figure B is 192cm2. what Is the area of each square and triangle

Here are the figures

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Let A = area of figure A B = area of figure B S = area of one square T = area of one triangle Since ` the total area of figure A is 141cm2` and because figure A has 1 square & 4 triangles, we can say A = (one square area) + 4*(one triangle area) 141 = (S) + 4*(T) 141 = S + 4T ---------------------------------------------------- we're also told that `the total area of figure B is 192cm2`. Since figure B has 2 squares and 2 triangles, we know B = 2*(one square area) + 2*(one triangle area) 192 = 2*(S) + 2*(T) 192 = 2S + 2T

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So we have this system of equations 141 = S + 4T 192 = 2S + 2T which is equivalent to this system S+4T = 141 2S+2T = 192

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Let me know if you need help solving that system.
