Linear Law

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The diagram shows a linear line graph obtained from the equation \[y=pq^{2x^2+1}\]where p and q are constants.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the value of p and of q.

OpenStudy (baru):

try taking 'log' of both sides of the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\log_{10}y=\log_{10}p+\log_{10}q^{2x^2+1}\]

OpenStudy (baru):

now substitute x^2=0 and log y=1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[1=\log_{10}p+\log_{10}q\]

OpenStudy (baru):

now that is equation 1 now substitute x^2=3 and log y=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[7=\log_{10}p+\log_{10}q^7\]
