how do you use a table of values to write the y= rule

OpenStudy (triciaal):

is this for a linear equation y = mx + b ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it is y = mx + b

OpenStudy (triciaal):

b is the intercept the value of y when x = 0 m is the slope. the slope is the change in y divided by the corresponding change in x. the slope is the same for any 2 points on that line

OpenStudy (triciaal):

given the values (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) the slope is y2 - y1 / (x2 - x1) using one of the points and now you calculated the slope find b rewrite using (x, y) for any point on that line with the same slope.

OpenStudy (triciaal):

do you have the table of values?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

do you have any questions about what to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x;0,1, 2, 3 y; 4, 12, 36, 108

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh, it think that its y=ab^x

OpenStudy (triciaal):

OpenStudy (triciaal):

correction. I guess the first thing to do is determine if y is an AP or GP
