Could someone help me complete and understand a mid module check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Antonio purchased adult and child tickets for the fair. Tickets cost $29.35 for each adult and $17.45 for each child. Let x represent the number of adult tickets purchased and y represent the number of child tickets purchased. Write an expression to represent the total cost of the tickets Antonio purchased. $29.35y + $17.45x $29.35x + $17.45y ($29.35 + $17.45)(x + y) ($29.35 - $17.45)(x + y)

Please Ill Fan & Medal

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

did you choose an answer yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not yet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Theres 6 questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

You can start off with looking at adult tickets first. It's $29.35 for each adult, so you'll need to multiply that price by the number of adults.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29.35 X 4 ?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Well, it doesn't specify how mayn adults there are, it says" Let x represent the number of adult tickets". So we will mulitply the cost by x.

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

*many

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

You do the same for the children's tickets, and then they are looking for the total cost of the tickets Antonio purchased, so we will add it add together.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk What the answer would be though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Close, make sure the variables match with the price. X represents the number of adult tickets, and y represents the number of child tickets.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh So It would be C ?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Not quite. The price per adult ticket is $29.35, which will need to be mutlipled by the number of those tickets purchased, which is represented by x. So that part is $29.35x....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Math Is Hard /:

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

The price for a child's ticket is $17.45, and y represents the number of those tickets. Multiply those and we will get $17.45y

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

I'm sorry :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the good explaining

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think you could help with a few more

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

I think so, yeah :)

Mindy conducted a survey of the phones in four stores and wrote the following observations: 5 of the 8 phones in Store 1 were smartphones 13 of the 22 phones in Store 2 were smartphones 22 of the 30 phones in Store 3 were smartphones 12 of the 25 phones in Store 4 were smartphones Based on the survey, which store had the greatest percentage of smart phones?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on the survey, which store had the greatest percentage of smart phones? Store 1 Store 2 Store 3 Store 4

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Do you have a calculator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I Can get one

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Ok good. When you have a calculator, it's easy to find the percentage in this situation. For Store 1, do 5 divided by 8, and you will get a decimal. Move the decimal point to the right two spaces, and you have your percentage.

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

You can do this for each set of numbers, going left to right, and write down all the percentages. Then you can just look and pick the one with the higher number :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do I find % on a calculator

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

You just divide the two numbers, and move the decimal point over in the answer. For example, if you do 5 divided by 8 (our first set of numbers), the answer should be 0.625 <-- when we move that point over twice, we'll have 62.5. So for Store 1 it'll be 62.5%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my calculators not working omg >.<

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

If you're using a computer, you should be able to find the Calculator in the installed programs..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill Look

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Or you can search "online calculator" on Google and one will just pop up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

store 1 in 62%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Store 2 is 59%

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Yep :) keep going!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Store 3 is 73% ?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

store 48%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its store 3 :D

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Yep! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think we could do the next four kinda fast I gtg soon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The number of pages that Armando, Billy, Robert, and Joel can read in a day is shown below. Armando read 15% of his 46-page book. Billy read 11% of his 72-page book. Robert read 12% of his 68-page book. Joel read 14% of his 69-page book. Who can read the greatest number of pages in a day?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The table shows the battery life of four different mobile phones. Mobile Phone Battery Life Phone Battery Life (hours) A 20 B 25 C 10 D 18 If 6.45% of the battery life of each mobile phone is used in a day by a typical user, for which mobile phone is 1.6125 hours of battery life used in a day

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the 2nd one But don't worry about it ill try and figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kobeni-chan Are you there?

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Sorry I got a little busy @JamesxRay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its Okay Could You Tell Me the Answer Please

OpenStudy (kobeni-chan):

Can't give the answers away on here :/ btw I don't think the table showed up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But this is too hard And ill copy the table

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please Help me I don't have much time left D:

Emerson purchased a game that was on sale for 18% off. The sales tax in his county is 8%. Let y represent the original price of the game. Write an expression that can be used to determine the final cost of the game.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I only need this one because its not multiple choice I can guess on the others please ill fan D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):
