did i get this right? $2,342,287,500 spent on marijuana prisoners. 1,561,525 prisors (sources http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/p14.pdf) Based on this (https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2014/crime-in-the-u.s.-2014/persons-arrested/main) .05 of the arrest were marijuana related. it cost 20 to 60k (avg. 30k) so, 1,561,525 (5%)=78076 78076(30k) = $2,342,287,500

I have no idea if you are correct or not because I don't have the question
Sorry it was a pdf file
Based on the FBI report 5% of arrest in 2014 were marijuana possession. If you put that in the prison population, which is 1,561,525. 5% of that is 78076. the average amount to house an inmate in 30k. so, it cost america over 2 trillion to house marijuana inmates, right?
there is not enough to go on. this table shows male prisoners state and federal by year. How do you know for Marijuana?
the post crossed
I would agree
So, I am right? I have to preset this for public speaking. I want to double check my facts
are you doing a power- point to go along with this?
Yes
suggest since you have credible source and maybe even using the Table of Facts, as a handout the emphasis should be on the delivery. How you feel about the cost. focus on the choice of words to show the impact. 5% on your pie-chart might not seem like a lot but when translated into the cost if has a tremendous impact.
