Here, "solve" means to find the x-coordinates at which the graph of the given quadratic function crosses the x-axis (and therefore y=0). I'd suggest you graph each quadratic. You could make a table of values and then plot the resultant points, or you could find the vertex of each parabola and plot that, or a combo of methods.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Start with whatever is familiar to you. What do you know about graphing quadratic functions? What do you need to know beyond that?

OpenStudy (sophadof):

I will try to figure out what i can do now...and I'll get back to you! thank you!

OpenStudy (sophadof):

Graph the parabola using the direction, vertex, focus, and axis of symmetry. Direction : Opens Up Vertex :(−1,−4) Focus :(−1,−15/4) Axis of Symmetry :x=−1 Directrix :y=−17/4 I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO DO it...so i used mathway.com..... but still don't know what this means @mathmale

This is the table.. X −3 −2 −1 0 1 Y 0 −3 −4 −3 0
